As a designer I always follow the guiding principle of 'Form follows function’. I like to challenge convention - We transformed a drab barristers office into a place of solace and study. We took the approach with Flatiron that we wanted a hair salon to feel more like a bar or restaurant. Or, at the very least, not like a hair salon! I really feed off the positivity from my clients when a job is completed.
It can be difficult to illustrate the value of good interior design in the workplace or the home. We help things flow both in form and in function. I love applying my skills and experience in helping people to realise a space to work or live in that is designed to be practical and also aesthetically pleasing. In the words of William Morris - Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful.
I have an Hons degree in Interior Design and many years of wide ranging experience in both commercial (Retail and Office) and residential (from a single bedroom to an overhaul of a large period home) interior design behind me. I am also a Mom of three young kids and my experience with motherhood and running my own business has been an extremely rewarding one. I have learned so much over the years from adapting our own space to accommodate a family. I regularly apply this experience to my work in residential spaces - it is invaluable.
